Preparing for a Camera System Installation

There are a couple ways that you can prepare for the installation of a camera system and help us to make the install go smoothly.

  1. First and foremost is knowing where we will be installing the DVR / NVR. This is the unit that will be recording all the video feeds and where you will go to play back videos. It is important that this be installed someplace that has access to the network (Such as near the cable / dsl modem). Another thing to consider is how you will be monitoring the new system. If you plan on using an application on your phone, or another computer, then you dont need to worry to much about having a dedicated monitor for the DVR / NVR. However if you would like to have an always on monitor screen, please make sure there is enough room for both the DVR / NVR and the screen and that the unit is located within 3-4 feet of where you would like the monitor.
  2. Next is the placement of the cameras. Most of the time it is hard for customers to get a good idea of the best placement for cameras, so just have a rough idea of what you want covered by your new camera system. That way the technician can give you suggestions and point you in the right direction of determining the final positioning.
  3. The last thing we will need is access to the attic or crawl space. Most of the time this is found in the garage, however in some buildings this could also be located in a closet. Please take a few minutes and locate the access point before we arrive on site.

That is generally all we will need from the customer to make sure we can get the system installed properly. Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions on any of our camera systems or installations.
